Went to open the door after getting gas, the handle depressed, and didn’t retract. It’s always one thing or another! :D

So I did a roadside repair(more of a roadside weight reduction) and removed the handle, and covered up the whole with painter’s tape.

I haven’t looked into it much yet, but there’s one broken hinge or actuator of sorts I believe that just gave out and snapped on me. So now I’m gonna replace the door handle assembly or maybe even both. But I must find some way to get the locking cylinder out and into whatever door handles I can find; I’m not carrying around four keys for this car. Three is more than enough, not including the spare! (o_O)

Time to shave the handles and install door poppers. Then french the license plate.

Bring back the 90s!

Find a good local Locksmith. I mean a real Locksmith, one that’s been around a while. I’d put $ on one being able to “hepl”.

But the lock is fine, it’s just the parts connecting the door handle to whatever intricate parts on the door itself.

No worries. :)

Currently weighing my options on how to proceed.

There is hope for humanity yet, then.

A shaved handle is effectively a handle delete. You remove the handle abd actually add metal over the vacancy and paint over it to give the appearance that there is no handle at all. So the entire door is flush with no handle, hence why it’s called a shave.

I thought frenching and shaving had something to do with gender reassignment

shaving your door handles requires repainting or some painting basically take the holes away, then by poppers he means a system to actuate the door popping open since you’d be without door handles. Sometimes you see it on hot roads and super showtastic show cars.

I think he was trying to be funny, and some what succeeding.
